The Proper Yoga Clothing To Wear To A Bikram Yoga Class

In my last article, “What Yoga Clothes Should I Wear To A Bikram Yoga Class”?, we talked about the fact that Bikram Yoga is a type of hot room yoga and as such might need a very particular type of yoga clothing. In this article I want to delve a little further into this subject and get somewhat more specific. Here are a few things you may want to consider when purchasing yoga clothing for you next Bikram Yoga class.

Yoga Pants Clearly there are several different types of yoga pants. You’ve probably seen those that are full length as well as the Capri type that end just below your knee. Of course, you can always just opt for wearing shorts as well.

Obviously you are going to have to choose between a more form fitting style and those flowing yoga pants that are so popular. The form fitting ones are great because they offer an opportunity for your instructor to be able to spot whether or not you are performing the poses right or not.

The advantage of flowing yoga pants is that they can hide areas of your body that you dont want revealed to the general public. This may be out of modesty or just because you dont look as good as you soon will.

Yoga Wear Tops Choosing yoga wear tops is similar to choosing yoga pants in that you’ll want to look for those that are either form fitting or loose and flowing. You could choose a t-shirt style or a tank top made of linen or hemp, maybe with one of those “Om” symbols printed on to it, if that matches your style.

Yoga wear tops come in many popular styles and colors so you should never run out of endless ideas on what sort of yoga clothing to wear to your Bikram Yoga classes.

Yoga Shoes Most people dont even bother with this sort of item, preferring instead to practice barefoot. That said, you may want to look into some sort of comfortable footwear just in case you decide you want to practice on some stony beachmaybe in the Caribbean? Just a thought.

You could wear something loose and free like cotton soled tai chi shoes. Or even something with a little more support. Both Puma and Adidas make specialized footwear designed specifically for yoga enthusiasts.

To sum it all up, buy your yoga clothes because YOU like them. Choose wisely something practical, down to earth and above all, comfortable. You’ll thank yourself for it.
